Sengkaling Door Chime

The sound of the sengkaling is believed to ward off bad spirits and announce the arrival of someone esteemed and respected. Traditionally, these medium-sized hawk bells are attached to the bridle of the Datu's (community leader) horse so its sound can proclaim his eventual arrival.
